1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the RoadMap career planning application (the "App"), you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

RoadMap ("we," "our," or "us") reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through in-app notifications. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

RoadMap is a career planning application that provides AI-powered career guidance and generates personalized career roadmaps through a subscription-based service. The App utilizes artificial intelligence technology powered by OpenAI's language models (GPT-3.5 and GPT-4) to deliver career advice and recommendations.

Free Features:

  • Career quiz and assessment
  • Basic app functionality

Premium Subscription Features:

  • AI-powered career conversations and guidance
  • Personalized career roadmap generation
  • Advanced career planning tools
  • Ongoing AI support and recommendations

Important: Premium features and generated roadmaps are only accessible during an active subscription period. Upon subscription cancellation or expiration, access to premium features and previously generated roadmaps will be lost.

3. Subscription Service and Billing

Subscription Model

RoadMap operates on a subscription basis. Premium features require an active paid subscription.

Billing Terms

  • Subscription fees are charged according to your selected billing cycle
  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law
  • Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • You are responsible for maintaining current payment information
  • Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance

Free Trial (if applicable)

  • Free trials may be offered at our discretion
  • Trial terms will be clearly disclosed at sign-up
  • Subscription billing begins automatically after trial expiration unless cancelled

Subscription Cancellation

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or app store
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • Important: Upon cancellation or subscription expiration, you will lose access to all premium features and previously generated roadmaps

4. Eligibility and Age Requirements

The App is rated 9+ and designed for career planning purposes. Account creation is required for subscription services:

  • Users under 13 should have parental supervision when using the App
  • Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the AI-generated content and managing subscriptions
  • The App is intended for users in the United States only
  • Valid payment method required for subscription services

5. Acceptable Use

You May:

  • Use the App for legitimate career planning and professional development purposes
  • Access free features (career quiz) without a subscription
  • Use premium features during active subscription periods
  • Provide accurate information to receive more relevant AI guidance

You May NOT:

  • Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purposes
  • Share subscription access with others or use multiple accounts to avoid fees
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the App's security
  • Input content that is offensive, discriminatory, or violates others' rights
  • Attempt to extract or misuse the underlying AI technology
  • Use the App in ways that could damage, disable, or impair the service
  • Share or distribute content that violates intellectual property rights
  • Use the App to generate content for commercial redistribution without permission
  • Circumvent subscription requirements or payment systems

6. AI-Generated Content and Disclaimers

Nature of AI Content

  • All career advice and roadmaps are generated by artificial intelligence
  • AI responses are based on patterns in training data and may not reflect current market conditions
  • Career guidance is for informational purposes only and is not professional career counseling

Important Disclaimers

  • No Professional Advice: The App does not provide professional career counseling, legal advice, or guaranteed career outcomes
  • Accuracy Not Guaranteed: AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or biases
  • Individual Results Vary: Career advice may not be suitable for your specific situation
  • Not a Substitute: AI guidance should supplement, not replace, consultation with qualified career professionals

User Responsibility

  • You are responsible for evaluating the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated advice
  • We strongly recommend consulting with qualified career professionals for important decisions
  • You should verify any factual information provided by the AI

7. Third-Party AI Processing

Your conversations with the App are processed by OpenAI's language models. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your chat messages are sent to OpenAI's servers for AI processing
  • OpenAI has separate Terms of Service and Privacy Policies that apply to this processing
  • Your data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States
  • You should review OpenAI's current policies at https://openai.com/privacy and https://openai.com/terms

8. Data and Privacy

  • We do not store your conversations or personal data on our servers
  • All your data is stored locally on your device
  • We do not collect personal identifiers, location data, or use analytics

Your Data Control

  • Free features maintain data on your device
  • Subscription-based features and generated roadmaps are tied to your subscription status
  • Upon subscription cancellation, premium content and roadmaps become inaccessible
  • You can delete your account and all associated data through app settings
  • We cannot recover subscription-based content after cancellation or expiration

9. Intellectual Property Rights

RoadMap's Rights

  • RoadMap and all associated trademarks, logos, and branding are owned by us
  • The App's design, functionality, and code are protected by intellectual property laws
  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary technology

Your Content

  • You retain ownership of the career information and inputs you provide
  • By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your inputs through AI services to provide the career guidance service
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you input

AI-Generated Content

  • Career roadmaps and advice generated by the AI are provided for your personal use
  • You may use AI-generated content for your personal career planning
  • Commercial use or redistribution of AI-generated content may require additional permissions

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Service Availability

  • The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Third-party AI services may experience downtime or service interruptions

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any)
  • We are not responsible for career decisions made based on AI-generated advice
  • We disclaim liability for any damages arising from AI content inaccuracies or biases

  • We make no guarantees about career success or outcomes
  • Career advice is general guidance and may not apply to your specific situation
  • Professional success depends on many factors beyond AI guidance

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoadMap, its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the App in violation of these Terms
  • Your career decisions based on AI-generated advice
  • Any content you input that violates others' rights
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations

12. Geographic Restrictions

This App is intended for users in the United States only. If you access the App from outside the United States:

  • You do so at your own risk
  • You are responsible for compliance with local laws
  • Different privacy and data protection laws may apply
  • We may restrict or terminate access from certain geographic locations

13. Termination

By You

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through account settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • You lose access to premium features and roadmaps upon subscription expiration
  • You may continue using free features after subscription cancellation
  • You may delete your account entirely through app settings

By Us

We may suspend or terminate access to the App or your subscription if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Payment issues occur (for subscription services)
  • We need to comply with legal requirements
  • Technical or security issues require service interruption
  • We discontinue the App (with reasonable notice and appropriate refunds for unused subscription periods)

19. Refund Policy

General Policy

  • Subscription fees are generally non-refundable
  • Refunds may be provided at our sole discretion for technical issues that prevent service access
  • App store refund policies may apply depending on your purchase platform

Service Discontinuation

  • If we discontinue the service, unused subscription periods may be refunded on a pro-rated basis
